Usually talking at someone is considered rude. We talk with or to people we respect.
However there is one domain where talking at someone is considered proper etiquette: in productivity software.
We are excited to announce that Picter now supports the common “@ mention” standard you and your team have come to know and love in applications you’re probably already using, like Slack, Monday, Asana, Google Docs, or AirTable. Read on to learn exactly how this works and what you can expect when you mention someone in the comments in a Picter project.
@Mention in comments and annotations
When you’re working on projects, you’ll sometimes need to call the attention of another teammate when using comments and annotations in Picter. When you add a comment and include an @mention, the person you mention receives a notification.

Follow projects
You can now follow specific projects to stay on top everything happening in a project. Once you follow a project, you will be notified of all activities in that project, for instance:
- When a comment has been made
- When an annotation has been added
- When someone has mentioned you
- When visuals have been uploaded
- When visuals have been downloaded
- When assets have Approved and Rejected
Following a project is easy, simply click on the context menu and then the bell icon. That’s it! You can also choose to Unfollow a project if you don’t need to track it anymore.

Real-time email and in-app notifications
With all these notifications available for you, your team and clients – you’re probably wondering how you receive them?
For Picter power-users, notification are available right in your account located at the bottom of the sidebar-menu where the bell icon is. Here you can get an overview of what has been happening.

In addition to in-app notifications, you can also receive notifications via email. This is ideal to make sure important updates are not overlooked and you’re always on top of what’s going on with your visual assets.
